FVRSG Refugee Week Event At Creek Creative & The Abbey Physic Garden

Yesterday FVRSG hosted our Summer Event at The Abbey Physic Garden in Faversham. With plenty of cakes, savouries, tea, coffee, soft drinks and Pimm’s (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), we saw an amazing amount of people come and show their support for refugees while enjoying the beautiful surroundings of the garden.

Although the weather was changeable, the turnout was amazing and families were arriving throughout the day to enjoy the food, drink and face-painting.

This week also saw the display of the artwork of the pupils of Ethelbert Road School. The children had been thinking about “Home” and what it means to us. They had produced some excellent art which has been on display at Creek Creative all week. Visitors to the art display and the garden event could walk between the two locations by following our handy ribbon guide.

Don’t worry if you missed the display yesterday as it is still up at Creek Creative today (Sunday) and we are hoping to be able to show some on our upcoming July stall at Faversham Market.

On Saturday we managed to raise a wonderful £779.89 in donations. We are hugely grateful to everyone who attended and especially those who donated items, and their time to making the day the massive success it was. It really was brilliant to see everyone pulling together to make the day so special.
