On October the 10th FVRSG held the second Fun Quiz and Raffle in the wonderful surroundings of The Assembly Rooms in Faversham.
Last year the quiz was so popular that we decided to move to a larger venue this time. The Assembly Rooms did not disappoint!
The quiz room quickly filled with eager quizzers ready to do battle. Everyone brought a wide selection of food and drink to keep themselves fuelled for the duration.
We also had a good selection of backup wine in exchange for donations in case anyone needed it.
Once everyone was settled, Jan took to the floor as MC for the evening and the quiz got underway.
At half-time, everyone gave generously for raffle tickets. We had a wonderful selection of prizes donated by supporters and local businesses. However, everyone would have to wait until the end of proceedings to see if they had won a prize.
The second half kicked off with more questions and the teams were racing up and down the leaderboard with each round producing more surprise results. It was impossible to tell which team would be victorious.
Eventually the team “Strange apple smell” stormed up the leaderboard to be crowned the winners. They won the coveted box of posh chocolates which they graciously shared with the runners up.
The raffle then got underway and the large table of prizes gradually reduced until all had been won.
The evening ended with everyone enjoying a great time, and maybe learning something new too! After all donations were counted we raised over £500. An excellent amount from our fun and generous supporters.
FVRSG would like to thank everyone who donated their time to make the evening such a success, plus everyone who helped in other ways by supplying prizes, questions and of course the teams themselves. Well done everyone, we are looking forward to seeing everyone again for next year’s quiz!
